JR N'EX (Narita Express) — Only direct train to Shibuya
N'EX is the only train that runs directly to Shibuya without transfers (~85–90 min, ¥3,330). All seats reserved with luggage racks at every seat — ideal for large bags. Suica/IC cards cannot pay the express supplement; buy a combined ticket at the machine or online.
Note that Shibuya is not N'EX's final stop — the train continues toward Yokohama. Board any car; your seat assignment puts you in the right place.
Skyliner + Yamanote Line — Recommended
Take the Skyliner from Narita Airport to Nippori (~36–41 min, ¥2,470), then the Yamanote Line outer loop to Shibuya (~28 min, ~¥210). Total: ~70–75 min, ¥2,670 (IC ¥2,659).
This is about 15 min faster and ¥660 cheaper than N'EX. The Nippori transfer is well-signposted. If you can manage one transfer with your luggage, this is the better option.
Airport Bus TYO-NRT + subway
Airport Bus TYO-NRT runs to Tokyo Station / Ginza for ~¥1,500. From Tokyo Station, take the Yamanote Line to Shibuya (~30 min, ~¥210). Total cost ~¥1,700–2,000. Allow 110–140 min+ as highway traffic can vary significantly.
Limousine Bus (Shibuya route)
Airport Limousine Bus runs directly to Shibuya Mark City (connected to Shibuya Station). No transfers required (~75–130 min, ¥3,600). Luggage goes in the hold. A good option if you prefer buses and your hotel is near Shibuya station. Allow extra time during peak hours.

The only option after the last train (after ~23:xx). Narita's official fixed-fare taxi scheme puts Shibuya in Zone D: ¥31,500–32,500 depending on the route, plus expressway tolls and the 22:00–05:00 late-night surcharge. No reservation is needed — walk to the taxi stand and confirm the destination before getting in. Split four ways that is roughly ¥8,000 each before tolls and surcharge. The GO app also offers a flat airport fare with no advance booking; S.RIDE is strong inside Tokyo but is not the way to get picked up at Narita.
