Service Details

Coin Lockers

Available on multiple floors of Terminal 1, 2, and 3. Sizes range from small (carry-on) to XL (large suitcase). Charged per day, maximum around 3 days. Newer lockers accept IC cards (Suica etc.) and credit cards; older units are coin-only. XL lockers are limited — grab one early during peak season.

Staffed Luggage Storage

Counters near arrivals lobbies and departure floors handle any size or shape of luggage. Rates are approx. ¥800–1,500 per piece. Some operators offer multi-day storage up to a week.

Delivery Service (Yamato TA-Q-BIN / Sagawa)

Drop off at the counter in the Arrivals lobby and have bags delivered to your hotel by the next day. This is the most effective way to travel hands-free on your first day. Keep a change of clothes and valuables in your carry-on for the first night.

Yamato "Hands-Free Sightseeing" service: while touring, ship from convenience stores or Yamato offices to your next hotel. Works perfectly for multi-city itineraries.

FAQ

My large suitcase does not fit in a coin locker. What should I do?

Use the staffed luggage storage counter. Located near the arrivals lobby and departure floor of each terminal, it handles oversized, irregularly shaped, and multiple bags. Expect to pay around ¥800–1,500 per piece.

When will my luggage arrive at my hotel if I use the delivery service?

Both Yamato Transport and Sagawa Express deliver the next day as standard (some remote areas take two days). If you hand in your bags in the morning you can request next-day delivery timed for a morning or afternoon slot. Tell your hotel a delivery is coming, and keep the tracking slip.

I want to sightsee around Narita and then head to my Tokyo hotel. What should I do with my bags?

The simplest option is a coin locker (extra-large size) — drop your bags, sightsee, retrieve them, and head to Tokyo. Alternatively, send bags by delivery directly to your hotel (next-day), so you travel completely hands-free from Narita onwards.

How do I manage luggage while touring multiple cities across Japan?

"Relay delivery" works well. From your first hotel (e.g. Tokyo), send bags to your next hotel (e.g. Kyoto) before you check out. Travel by shinkansen hands-free. Yamato's TA-Q-BIN service lets you ship from convenience stores and Yamato offices at sightseeing destinations to your next hotel.

Are the delivery counters open at night if I arrive late?

Yamato and Sagawa counters are typically open 07:00–22:00 and closed late at night. For midnight arrivals, use coin lockers (open 24 hours) and complete the delivery paperwork the next morning.
