Late-Night Arrival Guide
Landed after the last train? Here are your four options — compare them and pick what works for you.
Your 4 Options After the Last Train
① Taxi or Pre-Booked Hire Car
The most reliable option. A late-night surcharge (22:00–05:00) applies, so fares are higher than daytime.
| Destination | Estimated Fare (incl. surcharge) | Travel Time |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo / Shinjuku / Shibuya | ¥18,000–28,000 | 60–80 min |
| Yokohama | ¥25,000–35,000 | 80–100 min |
Tip: Pre-book a flat-rate hire car (via apps like S.RIDE or GO) to lock in the price. Groups of 3–4 splitting the fare pay roughly ¥5,000–7,000 per person.
② Sorano-Yu — 24-Hour Onsen (Recommended)
Best value for a long wait. A 24-hour hot spring facility about 10 minutes from Terminals 1 and 2 by free shuttle bus.
- Free shuttle: from Terminal 1 and 2 (check current schedule)
- Price: from approx. ¥1,000 for a 3-hour pass (weekday)
- Facilities: baths, rest lounge, rock sauna, restaurant
- Rooftop open-air bath with aircraft views

③ Wait in the Airport Until the First Train
Parts of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are open 24 hours. Most restaurants close late at night, so stock up on food and drinks from a convenience store before they thin out.
- 24-hour convenience stores in each terminal
- Free airport Wi-Fi available
- Limited space to lie down — uncomfortable for long waits
④ Stay at an Airport Hotel
The most comfortable option if you want proper sleep. Several hotels are connected or adjacent to Terminals 1 and 2. Book in advance — late-night arrivals are common and rooms fill up.
